Crack Warranty (1)

Picture on right showcasing the cracks hidden behind this pool’s plaster layer. While some Concrete Pool Installers quote “Lifetime Structural Warranty”, look closer, it is for the concrete shell only. Concrete IS NOT WATERPROOF, only the Finish on top of the pool is waterproof (Plaster, Tile, Pebble, etc).  Most concrete Pools use Plaster which will crack and leak. Google Search “Pool Resurfacing Tampa” and you will see dozens of companies that make a good living fixing and stapling Concrete Pool Cracks and resurfacing them. Concrete Pools “Pop” out of the ground just like Fiberglass Pools too, don’t let them fool you!

Pettit Pools is owned by the Factory Nomad Pools based in Tampa Bay Florida. We are the only manufacturer that installs their own pools. We are not a Dealer. One warranty!  Our Fiberglass is thicker that other manufacturers because we can’t blame the installer. Our Fiberglass Pools use hand laid Woven Roven fiberglass with 100% isophthalic resin not cut DCPD cheap resin or a “Skin” Coat of Vinyl Ester resin then cheap general purpose resin painted behind it.  Read about it here on our Factory website (we do sell our shells to dealers around the country) https://www.nomadpools.com/quality-manufacturing-process/

Installation Speed (2)

More is done the first week of pool installation with a Fiberglass Pool than with a Concrete Pool. The first week of Fiberglass Pool install will have the Plumbing, Pool Shell filled with water, and all equipment set and connected.  What really slows down Concrete Pool installation is how strong is that installer’s leak warranty.  If you research how long Concrete needs to cure, it will say 28 days to cure concrete properly with the first 7 days used to sprinkle water over it 2-3 times a day or cover with plastic.  Some concrete Pool installers quote 30 day installs, but then have little if any crack warranty. Because they haven’t given the concrete shell time to cure before they cover it with a waterproof plaster, tile, or pebble coating.  If they use plaster, they are supposed to wait an additional 7-14 days before filling with water so the plaster can fully cure.  Nothing about Pool installation can be fast. Pools must settle, Concrete Pools and Decks must cure! If you try to speed the process in a few years after warranty expires, your concrete pool and deck will have a higher chance to crack than if you waited for it to cure properly.

Easy Maintenance (3)

The picture to the right is of a concrete pool while Fiberglass Pools have a neutral PH and do not react with the water. This is proven by all the 50year old fiberglass boats you’ll see in the marina alongside fish and plant life. Plaster Concrete Pools require more chemicals. As the plaster hydrates (cures) chemical reactions take place which result in the release of soluble calcium into the pool water, also known as concrete leaching. This calcium has a very high pH, which in turn raises the pH of the entire body of water in the pool.  You will be fighting this PH imbalance.

In many real estate markets, homes with swimming pools sell faster and for higher prices than those without pools. Pettit Fiberglass Pools is owned by the Fiberglass Pool Manufacturer Nomadpools.com, and is one of the few Fiberglass Pool manufacturers that installs their own pools.  This means our price is usually $6,000 less than other Fiberglass pool companies and $20,000 less than Concrete Pool installers.  If you hire Pettit Pools to maintain your pool, you even have a 15 year gelcoat warranty alongside the lifetime manufacturer’s warranty from cracks due to manufacturing mistake.  So while our pools cost about as much as a decent truck, in 15 years a Pettit Pool will be worth more than that same truck.
